Nachdem ich mir letztens das Demo von Sgt. Sunshine aus Spanien reingepfiffen hatte war ich einfach nur vollkommen zufrieden. Ich denke einigen von euch wird es ähnlich gehen, daher öffne ich mal einen Thread dazu. Eigentlich hätten sie sich auch Fuzz-Boys nennen können denn was einem da um die Ohren schmettert ist spitzen Retro Gitarrenakrobatik, klingt wie eine 70s Version von Kyuss mit Spacerock einschlag. Wie gesagt, ich war einfach nur zufrieden Das Demo kann man bei Stonerrock.com kaufen und umfasst 10 Tracks, wovon 1-2 etwas überflüssig sind. Damit sich jeder sein eigenes Urteil bilden kann habe ich noch Hörproben klar gemacht:
...allerdings könnte das sogar direkt vom Label (Concrete Lo-Fi, Hong Kong) noch wesentlich billicher zu kriegen sein, als bei stonerrock.com ($11.00!!! Porto für 1 CD-R)...
Wow...I heard a lot about this band from friends and people I met at concerts, but I never listened to their stuff and about a week ago I received the album of these three guys from Sweden and I must say the stuff they´re doing is psychedelic, but also rockin and groovin. Sgt.Sunshine reminds me a bit of Ten Years After and Blue Cheer flavoured with a good portion of good old Heavy-Rock and the cherry on top are the vocals which are sung really well and emotional...in my opinion one of the best vocals I heard on a heavy psych album for a long time. The other thing I like on this album is the quality of the recording...it sounds pretty retrolike, but the sound is fat and even on maximum volume pretty clear...perfect. Come on that trip and let Sgt. Sunshine be your guide.
