News: Although NWN! and the members of Autopsy have been acquainted for years (see the credits on the Eat My Fuk LP for instance), there has never been an opportunity to unite these forces of evil until now. It is with immense honor that NWN! now announces its plan to reissue a definitive vinyl edition of the Autopsy demos. These demo recordings, “Demo 1987” and “Critical Madness” immediately established Autopsy among the originators of the Death Metal tradition while also carving out their own uniquely demented and doom laden style. Specifically, Autopsy delved deep into a world consumed with filth and disease. With no pseudo-intellectual pretention, Autopsy reveled only in the psychotic lust invoked by the omnipresent odor of necrotic flesh. These demos represent the primordial essence of the sound that was, is, and always will be the exclusive domain of Autopsy. As part of Nuclear War Now!’s 10th year of darkness, the Autopsy demos will be released in a deluxe double LP edition. Sides A and B will feature the demos themselves remastered for vinyl from the original tapes while side C will include rehearsal and live recordings selected by the band and remastered exclusively for this release and side D will feature artwork etched into the vinyl. This release will be the most elaborate Autopsy vinyl released to date and do proper justice to the legacy of these pioneers of death.
Joa, die sind schon was spezielles. Unterscheidet sich vom restlichen Death Metal doch schon immens, irgendwo, und wovon die singen obs jetzt intellektuel ist oder nicht, keine Ahung... Einfach mal ziehmlich heavy, dazu ein übelster Groove, und es rumpelt dicke.

AUTOPSY haben sich nach ihrer Reunion Show auf dem MARYLAND DEATH FEST dazu entschlossen, wieder ins Studio zu gehen. Im August 2010 soll zunächst eine EP mit dem Titel "The Tomb Within" erscheinen, ein richtiges Studioalbum namens "Macabre Eternal" folgt schließlich Anfang 2011. Das ausführliche Statement der Band zu dieser Entscheidung lest ihr hier:
"As many of you know, for years it has been repeatedly stated that AUTOPSY was over with and done for good. While that was indeed true for a long span of time, it is no longer the case. AUTOPSY has come to the solid realization that the time is now right to resume their mission of gore soaked death metal brutality and to fulfill this mission with maximum intensity. Make no mistake about it, AUTOPSY is not about reliving the past, basking in nostalgia or riding on efforts from years long gone. The band is hungry to devour fresh minds and souls and has been amassing an arsenal of new and deathly material to unleash upon those who also hunger for such brutality. The surgical instruments are being sharpened and a pure death metal assault of the most horrific order is underway as you read these very words. On behalf of the band, thanks goes out to all who relented and simply would not allow this beast to remain in the grave. Your persistence will be met with unspeakable and unapologetic sonic atrocities. Let the blood flow...."
wie bei allen reunions bin ich auch hier erstmal sehr skeptisch und frag mich ob das wirklich not tut, aber vielleicht (hoffentlich) werd ich ja positiv überrascht....ich geh aber erstmal besser nicht davon aus!
