Ein Bückling vor dem amerikanischen Avant-/Ambient-/Drone-Duo und (zunächst) zweitem Langhuber, Coma Waering.
Bereits im Jahr 2003 über Artwrek und 3 Jahre später im Rahmen der limitierten Umschlag-Auflagen der britischen Paradigms Recordings Series wieder-veröffentlicht, hat sich dieser sympathische Bastard aus Jesu, Nadja, My Bloody Valentine, Godflesh, Swans, Neurosis, Merzbow, SunnO))) und den Labelkollegen Hjarnidaudi anscheinend nicht nur in meinem Gehörgang festgefressen. Durchweg positiver Lobhudelei seitens der Fachjournalie (The Wire, Terrorizer) und anderer Rezensenten (Aquarius Records, Crucial Blast, Julian Cope's Head Heritage) ist natürlich mit grundsätzlich-gesundem Misstrauen zu begegnen, aber in diesem Fall haben ausnahmsweise einfach mal alle recht.
2007 ist das Jahr des dritten Volllängers, in dessen Vorfeld allerdings schon im Oktober die We All Die Laughing-Box mit exklusiven Outtakes der aktuellen Aufnahme-Sessions und anderem Krimskrams veröffentlicht wurde (teilweise auch auf myspace.com/theangelicprocess einhörbar).
The Angelic Process sind ganz groß! Hab ich vor einigen Monaten von meinem damaligen Mitbewohner Christian von Woburn House (auch auf Paradigms) kennengelernt und war sehr beeindruckt! Sollte man unbedingt im Auge behalten!
Hab mir grad bei Paradigms die 'Coma Waering' von Angelic Process und die 'Pain-Noise-March' von Hjarnidaudi bestellt. Samples der letzteren klangen unheimlich vielversprechend...

Wobei einem dieses komische schwammig-rasselnde Gedröhns bei Hjarnidaudi dann auf voller Länge schon mal auf den Sack geht, wie ich feststellen musste. Hlidolf war - auch wenn andere Baustelle - bei weitem nicht so gewöhnungsbedürftig. ...

An die coma waering kommt die scheibe meiner meinung nach noch nicht ran. hat aber dennoch seine ganz großen momente. vor allem worried man und das titelstück sind großartig. aber irgendwie experimentieren die mir da noch zu viel rum.
hatte mir überlegt, deren komplette diskographie zu ordern, allerdings haben die son scheiß portosystem, bei dem man für jede zusätzliche cd nochmal soviel porto dazuzahlen muss, als würde man nur eine bestellen.
Ist mir auch aufgestossen - besonders die summasummarum $25 für die We All Die Laughing-Holzkiste (die beiliegende Zugriffsberechtigung zum Making Of des neuen Albums und die ominösen little extras aussen vorgelassen) erscheinen doch etwas größenwahnsinnig. Bei 25 Minuten à 6 Tracks - wovon gerade mal das zweite "Bleed Believer" (bis jetzt) am brauchbarsten ist - definitiv überkalkuliert.
...And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey wird dann noch nachgeholt...

We, at Sound Devastation Records, are elated to announce that we will be releasing Alabama based duo The Angelic Process new full length album 'Weighing Souls With Sand' on vinyl. The CD version of the album will be available via the excellent guys at Profound Lore Records (Amber Asylum, Asunder, ISIS, Nadja, Ulver).
Sound-wise: picture the wall-of-sound through fuzzy celestial grace that My Bloody Valentine created, and the tribal, ritualistic pulsations of 'Times of Grace' era Neurosis clashing and interacting with the emotional fervor, bloodletting and spiritualism of Swans and the powerful grace of Jesu. The band is also rooted heavily in noise too - using a vast amount of experimentation to produce the unique, almost avant-garde sound they do. The Angelic Process site other influences to be, but not exclusive to by any means, Merzbow, Masonna and Coil.
The album, which runs for approximately an hour, will be a double 12 inch effort, presented in a deluxe gatefold package. The 2xLP will be on heavyweight black vinyl (180g) and be limited to 1000 copies. An undetermined low run of heavyweight clear vinyl with a solid violet marble effect will be included in the 1000 pressing, to entice and entrance vinyl enthusiasts!

jau,Hjarnidaudi kenn ich seits das teil nur online als download gab,aber das release von paradigms is echt fett.und ein fetter drone sound dazu,vielleicht kann mans beschreiben mit sunno))) meets esoteric meets ne ecke industrial,nur alles ohne vocals...geiler trip das ding !

Ungewohnt... also für mich... kenne sonst diese Art des Drone nicht... klingt aber interessant, obwohl ich sagen muss, dass mir das düstere fehlt. Trotzdem soweit wirklich nett.
During the last few weeks, I have had to face a very difficult reality...as it stands, I can no longer make music. The break to my already damaged right hand has not healed correctly. As of now, I can't play drums at all and I only have a limited ability to play guitar (and I cannot bow at all). Even with surgery, a recovery that would allow me to play well enough to continue the band is not assured. Such a surgery would also require extensive muscle reconstruction and bone resetting and will take an estimated year and a half to 2 years to heal.
I have made music for the last 12 years...nearly half my life. I've done The Angelic Process for nearly 9 of those. When I think about who I am without music, I don't really know. Sometimes, something is so much a part of you...
But to get to the point, The Angelic Process has been put on hold indefinitely. There is nothing else that can be done about that. We have also managed to sell out of all the copies of all the reissue albums and most of our supply of the other albums. We will no longer be selling Angelic Process merchandise through our website or Decaying Sun site. This may change in the future, but as of right now, we need a break from everything. The stress and amount of energy that have gone into making this decision have left M and I drained and in need of a recovery period. All the orders that have been placed will be filled and everyone will get their order, but no new orders will be excepted from this point on. Any new news or updates about the band will be posted here and on the website.
We want to thank everyone for everything. We have met so many amazing people because of the band and our life has been improved so much by those interactions. I so want to name everyone and thank them personally and I'm sure I will in time, but right now I just want to get this post over with.
This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. It feels like a part of me is dying. I am sorry to everyone who loves this band as much a we do. I'm sorry to everyone who will never see us play live. I'm sorry to everyone...
